It has been proved by Russian archeologist, Viktor Sarianidi that proto Indo Iranian Aryans were pastoral people living around Caspian, fighting with the help of horse drawn chariots with spoked wheels, a novel invention. These pastoral warrior people had gradually spread to urban centers and gradually overwhelmed urban center of Gonur (BMAC - Bactria–Margiana Archaeological Complex) situated along river Amu / Oxus in Turkeministan by 2000-1800 BC. From there they spread and became dominant power across areas such as Balkh, Kabul, Kandhar, Herat, and some part of Iran shifted to Balkh and all over Afghanistan into Iran. By 1500 there center of activity was Helmand river. In Vesta it is called in Harahwati and in Rig Veda it is called Saraswati. Some experts say some members of these warrior tribes were often recruited by kings of surrounding areas. Around 1600 BC one adventurous section of these fighters might have killed the native Hurrian king and became rulers over the Hurrian people and they were called by Egyptians 'Metanni kings'. They ruled for 300 years and had rivalry with Assurian kingdom. After multiple victory and defeat the Hurrian / surian people led by Metanni rulers were ultimately defeated by the Assurian people by 1300 BC. This far western branch of proto Indo Iranian vanished from history...lost their identity...memory of this ancient rivalry between Surians ...Hurrians and Assurians have been preserved by Indo Aryan Brahmins in Rig Veda in the form of war between Sur and Asur powers. For Iranian Aryans their zoroastrian monotheist God Ahur Mazda means "Almighty the wise". In sanskrit Mazda becomes Medha or Medhavi: wise, intelligent. In the struggle for land and religious ideology of monotheism and polytheism the Irani Aryans dominated Harahwati / Saraswati in Herat region and further western area. Their ancient memory is preserved in the form of Zend Avesta (Holy book of Zoroastrians) while the Indo Aryans dominated Eastern area of Kabul Kandhar and Punjab the Saptasindhu region and preserved their ancient memory in the form of Rig Vedic Chhands.
